Various gender movements all over the world have been trying to eliminate discrimination against women. However, the differences between salaries of male and female employees have persisted over time. This gender pay gap involves the disparity between the hourly wages of men and women under the assumptions of equal work and work value the changes in the gender wage gap into portions associated with key characteris- tics such as schooling, experience, indus- try, occupation, and union status. We also examine how women fared relative to men at various points in the wage distribution.
